Fleet Information

Our long-term partnership with Embraer is evident from our status as its 1996 launch customer—and the 200+ Embraer planes we have in service. The ExpressJet Airlines fleet is composed of Embraer ERJ-145 and ERJ-145XR .

  • 206 aircraft flying as Continental Express;
  • 22 aircraft flying as United Express, increasing to 32 aircraft from May to October 2010; and
  • 16 aircraft operating within the charter division, decreasing to six aircraft from May to October 2010.

Our average fleet age is approximately eight years as of December 31, 2009.

Embraer ERJ-145

Seats 50; has a maximum flight range of 1,550 nautical miles—that’s about from San Francisco to Chicago—and a maximum speed of Mach .78. The Embraer ERJ-145 was first built in 1989.

Embraer ERJ-145XR

Seats 50; has a maximum flight range of 2,000 nautical miles and a maximum speed of Mach .80. The Embraer ERJ-145XR was designed specifically for improved range, giving ExpressJet Airlines more destination options. Currently, ExpressJet is the only operator of the XR aircraft.
